King’s Auto Group Strives to Make a Significant Impact on Health Care in Richmond

Born and raised in Richmond, Patrick Lee, co-owner of King’s Auto Group, has witnessed the city’s remarkable growth and transformation. “Richmond has grown and diversified tremendously as a community in the past five decades. Everything around the hospital has changed, yet Richmond Hospital, the sole hospital serving the entire municipality of Richmond, has not,” says Patrick. “The population in Richmond has far outgrown the hospital itself and despite this, our health care teams continue to provide high-quality care.” Although the business plan to expand Richmond Hospital has been approved by the B.C. Government, Patrick stresses that continuous support from the community is key to equipping our health care teams with facilities and tools that match their
drive for providing the best in care close to home.
Realizing the tremendous task at hand, King’s Auto Group hosted “A Night for Richmond” dinner gala in 2019 where over 200 friends and families attended and together raised $70,000 for Richmond Hospital Foundation. Health care is a universal need that affects everyone and can be overwhelming for those who are uncertain of how to make a difference. By hosting a fundraising dinner, King’s Auto Group provides the opportunity for individuals to contribute within their own means while collectively creating a lasting impact. Aside from fundraising and bringing more awareness to Richmond Hospital Foundation and their mission, the focus of the dinner is also to bring family, friends and neighbours together.
“Togetherness is what has brought us the success we experience today in our business,” says Patrick. “And to make a meaningful change in our community, especially in a cause as important as health care, we need to make a conscious effort to work together.” Community involvement and philanthropic giving helps Richmond Hospital Foundation fund innovative technologies and state-of-the-art equipment which enables better accessibility and a more robust health care system for generations to come.
