On Saturday, June 5th, 400 guests arrived at Richmond Centre after hours and were surprised by a complete transformation. The main galleria from White Spot to the middle of the Food Fair was decorated to create an Enchanted Starry Garden. The soft lighting, white draping and glistening metallic banners hung from the ceiling enhanced the intimate feeling.

Continuous circus acts were placed throughout the room and included a handstand entertainer, a chair balancing acrobat, aerial silks acrobats and aerial rings acrobats. Live music was provided by Andre Stepanin.

Now, let’s talk about wine and food! With over 24 stations, there were so many fabulous wines to try. The vendors were helpful in describing the wines and were to purchase. There was even high end Rum to try.

The 12 restaurants really pulled out the stops to make this an evening to remember. The restaurants carefully paired their hors d’oeuvres with the wines.  The food was amazing and plentiful. A fantastic partnership has developed between three Richmond Save-On-Foods and the students of the Matthew McNair Secondary School Teaching Kitchen who worked together to provide a wide selection of gourmet cheese and fruit.

While sipping and munching, there were 15 outstanding local artists to meet and discuss their artwork. The artists donated 50% of their sales to the Foundation.

Proceeds from this event will support the Foundation’s mission to save lives and improve the quality of care for patients served by Richmond Hospital.
